Digital Portfolio
The purpose of this portfolio is to display the knowledge and skills gained by the completion of the EDU 536: Technology for Learners course. Throughout the class, we studied how to teach 21st century learners, use social media in the classroom, and create digital citizens. Each week, our new knowledge was tested by developing real applications for our current classrooms.
About Me
Hi! My name is Kathleen Day. I am an eighth grade language arts teacher at a Connecticut based 1-to-1 STEM magnet school. Besides my classroom duties, I am a coordinator of the eighth grade field trip to Washington D.C., a member of the School Climate Committee, and the faculty adviser for the School Wide Expectations Student Committee. I am currently completing my masters degree in curriculum and instruction. My immediate professional goals include contributing to my district's language arts curriculum committee and improving student achievement by providing engaging instruction to 21st century learners. Long term, I hope to pursue a sixth-year or a Ph.D. that allows me to serve as a literacy specialist. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, experimenting in the kitchen, travellin
